The answer to one of the “Biggest Questions” each person has to answer in life – What is the meaning or purpose of my life? – has a really straightforward answer . . .

Only 2 options: either God exists, and has the authority and position as Creator to know the PURPOSE for life, OR, there is not. Therefore, either (1) there is an objective, ultimate PURPOSE in life for all of us, set by One in a position to know, or (2) there is not, and there is no overall PURPOSE (meaning) for life, each person just invents, decides, or falls into their subjective, self-chosen purpose.

While we can have multiple purposes (prime goals or sources of meaning) we choose for our life, either there is an ultimate meaning/purpose to life provided by God, or there is none.

If there is an ultimate purpose universal to all of us, do you think it would be better for you overall to follow that PURPOSE, or choose to go a different way? Do you think there will positive/negative consequences for choosing to accept or reject such a Purpose?

So the answer to the “Big Question”: What is the meaning/purpose of life?

It depends. There is an ultimate PURPOSE for all of us, if there is a Creator, which would be the only Authority in a position to know. There would be no objective meaning/purpose of life otherwise. In addition, whether God does or does not exist, there will also be purposes which each of us invent, choose or fall into, which are simply subjective.
