A – Get into a FIGHT—it will be good for you.
B – Let the WEAK ONES DIE.
C – What you will gain (and oooh, did you see that?!)

Most fights (physical, verbal, emotional) I avoid; I don’t want to see or be near them. Take talking politics, for example. If I do not have a clear understanding of which idea would prove better, or if the subject’s impact on me or the other person is less consequential than the potential stress coming from a disagreement, then it seems pointless and counterproductive for me to join the fray.

However, our worldview beliefs are a choice we all must make for ourselves and are the foundation and guide from which we make endless and serious choices, determine responses to what life brings, and set goals and directions in life. This is as serious as it gets (see the Why Should I Care? section in the website). Not to mention the potential impact after this life, which can raise the impact level off the charts.

And because different belief systems contradict each other, only one, at most, can be accurate in those foundational issues where they contradict.

To not take this seriously in my own choice of foundational beliefs or in helping others I care about would be incalculably dangerous and unreasonable.

One may be thinking, “This is too difficult, though, due to all the information, misinformation, and so on. I feel unable to wade through it all to get to reliable truth surrounding beliefs.” Yet, that is exactly why watching this fight is just what we need.

The good news is the hardest fighting and struggle has already been done by others, including some of the best minds throughout history, and much more importantly, by reality itself. Agnosticism, atheism, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Mormonism, and other worldview beliefs are not fighting each other as many think, but instead are fighting against all that reality throws at them.

Reality brings history, science, philosophy, your own personal experiences, and other sources of knowledge to brutally and honestly wash over every belief system in the arena of life. With such consistent and diverse tests of truth battering against different worldviews, an accurate worldview foundation will stand apart as a solid foundation. The others are exposed as sandcastle investments, destined to fail at some point when reality does its inevitable work. These reality checks can determine whether you will be a victor or a casualty both through and after your life, because reality never fails to bring the harmful consequences to those chained to a belief system founded upon sand when the tide of reality comes in. Claiming you don’t have a belief is also a belief system foundation and will have to stand up to reality and the consequences that naturally follow.

Therefore, you are not just a spectator, but also a participant as you are currently standing and investing all you built upon one of those foundations. You have much to gain in seeking information on the foundational beliefs you are invested in.

For those who do stand on accurate worldview beliefs, when you set those beliefs into the arena to contend with the other beliefs, what you will gain is solid assurance you can count on what you base your life upon. This brings confidence, comfort, and investments with guaranteed returns. On the other hand, for those who currently hold to inaccurate beliefs, what you will gain is even better!

If you have inaccurate beliefs and allow those beliefs to fight and get exposed by reality (facts and reasons from science, history, logic, correct beliefs, etc.) it will hurt, but think about it: The hurt will be more than offset by the future hurt, which you will now avoid. And the good things, which will now be added to your life as you move to an accurate foundation to correctly base your choices, goals, and direction in life upon, are measureless!

Different factors may lead us to what beliefs about reality we currently build our lives upon, but reality will continuously act on all beliefs to show what beliefs are true and which are inaccurate. If you are brave enough, or simply smart enough, to keep your eyes and mind open to watch your beliefs fight for their lives whether in the articles that follow, or in discussions with others, or in your own quiet time or study, you will gain the benefits mentioned above, plus more.

On the other hand, if you choose to ignore the tough questions about the big questions in life and shelter or protect your comfortable beliefs from potentially fatal attacks from truth, then you will avoid some discomfort and may also avoid making someone else uncomfortable by pointing out something they may not want to hear (even if they would benefit greatly from hearing it), but you will know it is an uncomfortable comfort, an insecure security. You create your own blind spot, in a self-imposed ignorance in the most significant area of life, and it will be from that darkened area where the unexpected and bad results gain entrance.

That was not said to be harsh, just realistic. If you think “ignorance” is not fitting, then list just five well-evidenced reasons why you stand on the worldview beliefs you do. If you can’t, that’s seriously telling, and it’s a problem. People who are headed for the best results their lives could bring  let the beliefs fight and watch the fight because the outcome directly affects those who watch.

Oooh, did you see that?!

Often, if one of the fighters is especially good (or if one of the fighters is especially weak), there is a decisive moment separating the fate of one fighter over the other, and makes the onlookers say, “Oooooh,” or sometimes, “Ewwwww,” if that moment was especially brutal.

As much as I like the competitive side of fighting, I usually don’t like those decisive moments as I fell for the one on the receiving end. But again, this is very different as we watch ideas fight in the worldview arena. Did you ever really need an answer to a question (college acceptance/rejection letter, job interview, an answer to a question you posed while in a serious relationship, pregnancy results, health results, etc.), because you knew it would impact or determine much of what you will experience afterward? Only if you watch the worldview fights can you get a really needed and impactful answer—the “Oooooh” moments provide answers.

And these fights are amazing, as they involve all aspects of life: from kangaroo babies to the music group Korn, from Einstein to Ice Cube, from CSI to Family Guy, from enjoying your favorite simple pleasure in life to knowing for certain your purpose / worth / destination in life. Reality has already brought the evidence from every field of study and every area of life into the arena to engage the worldview beliefs. Because you placed a very large bet on this fight, you should watch this fight!
